Hi, agree on the sticky threading of important topics for newbies to these cameras. Some questions i would like to pose..hope some of you could help a would-be fz20 user.
1) Is the lens hood adapter that came with the camera capable of attaching filters on it? If so, why would there be a MO for the tube adapter? 2) What is the fastest supportable write speed of the camera? read the thread for the kingston plat 60x sd card. 60x meaning how fast in terms of mb/sec? 3) Thinking of getting a UV filter to protect lens, anyone to suggest a good yet inexpensive one? saw this link on 1 of the threads: http://raynox.co.jp/english/digital/fz10/index.htm anyone using the protection filter? 4) Read that some filters use gelatin instead which produces not as good results (http://www.megapixel.net/cgi-bin/fs_...e-filters.html), any comments as to which filters use gelatin and which do not? 5) Batts to reccomend. Think that the capacity to shoot 200+ shots for a batt isn't that long actually...anyone has comments on longer lasting batts to use with the cam? Have been following up on this Panasonic forum regularly to research abit on the camera and user opinions before i buy it when i'm back in singapore. Hope you friendly bunch of people can oppfer some advise and also prices and brands and links and what not to help me draw up my buying list! ![]() |

Dotti is right. Just do a search in the Panasonic forum. I think every accessory applicable to the FZ1/2/3/10/20 cameras has been covered.

So you still need a protector to be safe. |

1) Is the lens hood adapter that came with the camera capable of attaching filters on it? If so, why would there be a MO for the tube adapter? Yes, the lens hood is apable of attaching fileters, as well as lenses. The reason for us to have MO for the tube adapter is because the thread size of the lens hood is 72mm. It will be cheaper and easier to get any lens or filter of 62mm or 58mm size. 3) Thinking of getting a UV filter to protect lens, anyone to suggest a good yet inexpensive one? saw this link on 1 of the threads: http://raynox.co.jp/english/digital/fz10/index.htm anyone using the protection filter? If you just want UV, Tokina should be cheap and good eough. ![]() 5) Batts to reccomend. Think that the capacity to shoot 200+ shots for a batt isn't that long actually...anyone has comments on longer lasting batts to use with the cam? So far don't think so anyone have batt that can shoot longer. I am trying to order the Digipower DPS9000 External Batt Pack, but need to order via net, will take a while. So far, comment from users in other forum is that the external batt can last at least 4 times longer than the internal batt, at the same time, due to the weiht it has, it gives the cam a better weight balancing while shooting. |

Apologies for 'hijacking' your thread...
If anyone wants a PHAYEE adaptor for FZ10/20, I have one in SUPERB condition for sale. Please see here: http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=101996 Have a look at the smugmug link with pictures to see the condition. Also got lots of filters! Cheers! ![]() |

Thanks JimDavis for the replies!
I'm contemplating getting the 62mm Hoya Pro1 Super HMC Multi-coated UV-Haze filter (for UV and lens protection). Any idea how much it would cost (roughly) and are there any equivalent tokina filters? Think the hoya is good in the sense that it includes a thread also for combinition of filters. |
