Default Newbie Q abt Nikon Capture 4

As above: does anyone know if Nikon Capture can be used to open any jpeg file??

I ask this to see if the software can be used to convert the fisheye image produced by Fuji S2 Pro+Nikkor 10.5mm fisheye to rectilinear image.

TIA for any info.

I believe it can only do the rectilinear conversion on Nikon's NEF images.

Oh I see...

When I double click on Capture Control icon, it said "no cam detected" (which is the case) and then, when I double click on the Capture Editor icon, nothing happened leh (probably system hung) (seems like the Capture is not working properly, or did I miss something?? )

Capture Control is for Nikon DSLRs only, it simulates the camera's VF on the screen and you can use it to AF and take images. Thus if you try your S2 Pro on it, it won't work as it can't communicate with the camera.

Thanks for the advice. I have since found the answer. Yes, Capture 4 works only with Nikon cameras. RAW or JPEG. No luck for Fuji S2 pro.

Nevertheless, I have also found another solution to convert fisheye image to rectilinear one. It works great. See link below:

Fisheye to Rectilinear Conversion

cheers,

Here is the experiment result with the panotool. quite fun. BUT, how come the corrected image doesn't look like an Ultra-wide shot ??
