I still like them for being value for money. But my camera body (5dMkII) refuses to recognise the 3rd party batteries and thus does not show battery info and the amount of jiuce remaining, though they can still be used. That was one of the main reason why I bought another 2 original battery very recently. Now I am happy. I have 3 original and 2 third party, and I can go for a one week trip with little worry.
But sincerely, as time goes by, one would find the 3rd party batteries losing their capacity much faster and much more than the originals. But then again, the price of a 3 party is 1/5 that of an original. Cannot complain. They are good.
erm.......... ><
why dont just bring ur charger and 2 battery ==
can charge in hotel ya
without worry too

From my past experiences, I've decided to stay with Original batteries..Simply put, it's not worth the $$ / hassle to go with OEM / 3rd party batteries..

For me, it's worth everything to go with 3rd party batts as they perform better than originals at a small fraction of the price.

I've been using 3rd party batts since over 4 years ago and so far no issues.

Hello, kokster.
Erm.. can you elaborate further?
Do you really mean charging a lens using a charger?

3rd party batteries rock! 3 times the performance that cost 3 times less. I've always been using 3rd party with no problems.

I was told by a camera shokeeper in orchard road that 3rd party battery might spoil Nikon camera and might void warranty. After I heard that, I spent 78 bucks on original Nikon battery.

is what he said true?

Aiyo. Which shop is that? Please tell. Just out to sell you what they want to you. If can "spoil" your camera so easily, erm i think those 3rd party batteries coy shall close down or get sued by now. I think its more of "at your own risk" and looking from responses (if you do your homework), the most user will share is that after a while, they might not hold their charge as great as the originals.

consider this that u spends a 4 figure sum to buy your camera, why do u want to save a few tens of dollars to get non genuine copies of the canon/nikon batteries. For a save piece of mine, it is better to use the original copies. Buy original be save.

I think the 3rd party markets holds its share for users who have rather pleasant experience with them. Have been using 3rd party stuffs (not just batteries), so i can only share my personal experiences to these batteries.

I use them, but not when I get to colder places, cause they often 'die' while the OEMs don't.
