if you want to use Nikon CLS, you can only use built in flash, SU-800 or Nikon SB800 or SB900 as commander.

other third party flash triggers whenever is IR or radio, do not support Nikon CLS, only manual flash mode. you can use auto mode of on remote flash actually, but the results won't be consistent or predictable, flash on manual mode will give you more consistent results for non CLS set up.

another thing to note is that the SU-800 is more effective indoors. since its relying on infrared.
you might have some difficulty using it outdoors.

hrm...thks for the info.

think won't consider su800,coz i usually use at outdoor.
now training to use m-mode on the flash,so wont be use nikon CLS also.

juz IR is hard to use when is outdoor, wil radio be better?

IR trigger is low cost, you only need transmitter, since most flash has built in slave which is IR sensitive, but will not work on every models. and the sensor of the flash must able to "see" the trigger to make it work, outdoor the ambient is too bright, the sensor can't "see" the IR even it is very close, so it work best at indoor situation.

radio trigger come in set, as long you able to attach the receiver to the flash and it is in range, you can trigger the flash via radio.

Also check out Radiopopper. It changes the CLS communications into long range radio signals that can pass through walls. Several pros I know are using it. Nikon or Canon both available.

The only thing is that you will not be able to control the settings remotely if you are using radio triggers. Only the SU 800 can do that.

Personally for me if I were shooting on location, I would use SU 800 as my trigger of choice.

Add Metz 58 AF-1N to the list... it can also act as Master and control Nikon flashes set as Slaves.

Could some one please advise me where to buy YoungNuo Speedlight Commander? What's the price? Is it also CLS-compatible? Can it work with d60 or not?

Thanks,

i'm getting it from ebay..should be arriving anytime soon.. 1 transmitter and receiver should cost around S$60...

it does not work with TTL so everything is in Manual. But be mindful to get the correct Transmitter for whatever model you are using..there should be one that can be used with D60. the receivers should be the same though.
