So brothers and sisters,
After release of GF1 for awhile, do you think that GF1 impress you as much compare to the time when you first use LX3? pls do not based your comparison based on present state of technology. think back. Last edited by artspraken; 3 Weeks Ago at 11:07 AM. |

Of course, LX3 really impresses me more initially than GF1 but this feeling is not helped by the fact that I did not owned a DSLR back then, so obviously from a PNS perspective, LX3 is awesome!
Since I got the GF1, I can't help but always trying to compare against DSLR, which is unfair, quite seriously, as it's not meant to be a DSLR replacement nor competitor. If you looked at GF1 from PNS/Hybrid perspective, then GF1 is a winner.

I guess I was more impressed with the LX3 when I 1st got it too. To me it still stands as the best compact prosumer camera out there. The GF1 is good too, I keep comparing it to my previous D80 and it stands up well enough. So I am a satisfied GF1 owner..

Hi I am newbie
I first own the sister or brother of LX3, the LX1 therefore the diff between the two LX1 and GF1 are alot. I am so amazed with the technology change between this 2 cameras and as for now I would say GF1 is a great PNS camera. Nevertheless the LX1 will still continue to continue to contribute to my photo collections but in RAW mode now. Cheers |

I don't have a LX-3, but when I got my GF-1, I sold my entire Nikon D90 system! Does this impress you?

LX3 definitely impressed me when it 1st came out... It is one of a kind... Leica lens, F2.0, Wide lens which produce very good photos.
To me, Lumix GF1 came after Olympus EP1, so the surprise factor of the lumix new micro four third standard camera isn't there... |
