Hi evryone, I would like to ask a few questions regarding the servicing of my camera.
I've tried searching in the forum for similar threads but I still cannot find what I need to know. So here goes : 1. After some checks, I found that there's quite a lot of dust on my sensor & OVF. Where should I bring my camera for cleaning and servicing? 2. The plastic piece in the top part of the mirror is also scratched. Where can I get it changed? 3. How long will it take to finish up the job? (estimated time) Thanks in advance. Josh

Yes, Sony Centre has crossed my mind and I duno how much would they charge for servicing and replacing of parts.
And I would like to know if other places does the job or not. The plastic piece is above the mirror. That is when you remove the lens, look straight in and above.

I am not sure what it is called but it's the opaque piece of plastic which has fine round lines on it.

Just go back to Sony Service Centre.
I would rather pay a bit more for quality and their turnaround time is very fast (normally it's faster than communicated).

The focusing screen in Sony DSLR is plastic? wow. Actually for the Nikon ones, I know how to replace the screen myself. But so far all the focusing screens I've worked with are all glass. even the cheapo $40-$60 replacement ones.
To get it changed you need to get the part. I did a search and found 3rd party screens for A350 here http://www.focusingscreen.com/index.php?cPath=26_86. Now problem is, is anyone in singapore selling these screens. Last edited by daredevil123; 3 Weeks Ago at 07:54 AM. |

MAybe the TS doesnt know that it is a piece of glass...
But well, above the mirror there nothing important other than focusing screen or the prism. Sure not the prism right? Because i believe it does not made of plastic. ![]()

AFAIK the A350 does not have a prism. It has a number of mirrors similar to nikon's penta mirror.

Yup. It's a pentamirror system to accommodate the secondary liveview sensor.

The piece of plastic or glass is above the mirror.
When the camera is in Cleaning mode, it cover that piece of plastic or glass.
