What to shoot in Pahang for 3 days?

Have been toying the idea of a photography trip to Pahang but don't really know Malaysia/Pahang that well...

Please kindly advise where/what to shoot within the constraint of a 2 full days and a half trip.

Bear in mind, I am there for a photography trip and NOT a holiday!
So, I am actively seeking photographic opportunity (like rivers, waterfalls, rain forest, terrace farming etc) with a VARIETY of shots and not simply stay put in a holiday/touristic-like area enjoying seafood or cool fresh air.

All contribution welcome.

i've stayed a few days @ Kuantan before, also for photogy. the nature trips are worth exploring if you're into that kinda stuff - i took some lovely pixs of the lakes, marshes and native villages there.

i heard that trengganu is also a beautiful spot for photogy but can't confirm that myself.

I would recommend for Lake Chini or Endaw Rompin nature park.
Lake Chini has 12 banks that u need to travel for around 2 hours by boat to visit all of them. Fow me, the scenery down there is very beautiful, and good for photography.

Depends on how you go there (coach or driving) and the routes that you take.

Cameron Highlands is from Ipoh to Tapah (south-north route: from JB-KL-Ipoh-Tapah[there is waterfall along the journey up]): veg farm, tea plantation, strawberry & flower farms and other stuff..you know..lah..tourist spot, beautiful landscape.

Fraser Hills: (also south-north route), had been there once: nice landscape

Kuantan: from east of Johor will be a good route to take, along the way can go to Kota Tinggi, some islands (e.g. Pulau Pemanggil), can drive to Cherating (beach), nice beaches..

Genting Highlands via JB-KL (Gombak) of course it is a theme park but I had been to Genting Forest once during my uni day: various flora & fauna (different from low-land)

2 1/2 days is pretty short and tight, a lot of travelling time

Oh ya, of course there is Taman Negara, good nature park (i have not been there, will like to go there someday) this place needs more than two days.

To get to Kuantan, it will take you at least 5 hours to drive there

You can go to Pahang via Karak Highway (longer route)

erm... most of them are in slides, which i lazy to scan. can meet up to show you if you want...

oh i've been to Lake Chini too, swift-monkey is right it's a nice place to roam around with a camera.

Go to Taman Negara. U can enter from Jerantut.
I've been there for a 2day 1nite stay but unfortunately it's not very pleasant to shoot due to the overcast weather & raining season.

In short, there are a lot of nature stuffs to shoot in both places.
If u r goin to Taman Negara, bring long lens as there's a lot of birds inside there.. too bad my lens not long enough

Second what roon2c has said...

Been to Taman Negara twice myself... very nice place to explore... If u r an outdoor person, you'll love this place!
Tree canopy traversing, water rafting etc... lots of things to do.

Furthermore, Jerantut is a small quiet town but it is thru here that u get to see scenic rivers while on the way to Taman Negara. Traditional long boats will bring you there...

I was there while in my college days, so it was a long long time ago...

But then again, always have the urge to go again. Nice place.

If you are adventurous enuff, try to conquer Gunung Tahan there.
Can see my name in the log book at the summit.

No probz.... accually those 3 hornbills are a family. (can see by their size & was told by the guide)

Accually i saw the fire squirel but too bad.... din't "really" caught it on the cam.... but it was really an eye openner.

Where and how far (by coach etc) are Lake Chini and Endaw Rompin from Kuantan or Taman Negara? Sorry, I have no map-sense where these 2 places are.

I have actually already set my eye on Rompin and now you have endorsed it is nice... hmmm, can try!

Wow, you painted until those places really must go!!! How did you get to Taman Negara and what's the travelling hours like?

Nonetheless, thank you for your advice ...

From the jetty near Jerantut, it takes about 2.5 hours to get to Taman Negara and it takes about 2 hours to get back to the jetty cause of the river flow.

Frm KL to Jerantut it takes 4-5 hours by bus(sorry cannot remember).

Err... i dun think u can make it..... to squeeze everything in 3days.

Cameron Highlands is way off ur track cause u need to travel there using another route unless there's a way there without entering Bidor/Tapah.

Will PM u in a few days regarding the guide's number.

Hmm if you don't travel by car, it would be difficult to go to Lake Chini. The last time i drove a rented car from singapore. Costly off course.
But if you drive yourself, you won't be limited by time, and travelling time would be faster. Cost wise, if you go as a group, driving would be a cheaper alternative, especially if you can borrow a car from frends.
And it is very true indeed that the scenery along the east coast from Rompin to Kuantan is very beautiful.
I can drive you there, but i dun have car. Hahahhaha.
