The multi color profiles is cool. Hopefully its a rev-ed up version of the D60

notice that the rear dial is much lower. this means that users need a longer thumb to operate comfortably (i already need to stretch my thumb to reach the rear dial button). if similar sensor is used i dun think that the AF will be much faster. judging from the specifications, D10 doesn't seems to have singificant changes at all, just minor improvement over D60.

AF system that D30/60 uses is rather.....lousy even if u compare with a cheap EOS 300 Those Canon staffs at the exhibtion already confirmed that 10D AF will be better...i am quite sure the the AF system will be something like EOS30/33...here are the similarities: - 7point AF - no AF assist lamp like D30/60 - a white colour sensor near the handle These features both foundin EOS33 and 10D

the AF system uses a separate sensor, it does not use the CMOS to focus on the subject.

wonder if the D10 difference on AF speed and sensitivy is similar when comparing D60 with D30? i think the D60 is only slightly faster but still not up to the expectation to many users. agree?

as pointed out by someone is dpreview forum
the firmware version is 1.2.2 which means the firmware should be very matured and probably the camera on display is already a production unit. look like 10D will be avaliable very soon quoted from the person who was the first who posted info abt 10D at dpreview... "Not only that but this camera will be shipping within 2 weeks in most countries. Canon Asia and Europe already have substancial stocks of this camera as does Canon USA."

the D60 feels faster due to its improved shutter lag times - the shutter release feels more immediate and sensitive. Also, the D60 has AF points that light up upon achieving focus, all of which contributes to the illusion that the AF is faster on the D60. this new camera is interesting cos it boasts of a different AF sensor with a different set of AF points, which i hope will be more akin to that of the EOS 30. |

Well, looks really interesting to me. Not quite the 1D, but an acceptable compromise.

A few things I like:1. Faster AF. I have been very tired of shooting low light action like fashion show in AI servo mode with D60. Either I or the camera or both are too lousy to get sharp pix; 2. Better low light focusing speed. If u try 50-500 plus extension tube shooting low light with few contrasty lines, or shoot wide angle close-up without seeing through viewfinder ...; 3. 7 focusing points. I just found horizontally 3 are not enough, 5 points are just nice; 4. Cheaper. Maybe; 5. Better buttons layout. Espeically the top three buttons near main info panel; 6. Change color temperature. I am not sure if this will improve the color accuracy of white balance in daylight/auto mode. Wish to see some nice 10D galleries soon... ![]()

Someone from Spain posted in the DPReview Forum that he has reserved a set of the new 10D for EUR3,000 (SGD5,100). Wonder how much the 10D will cost when it hit the shops in Singapore. I reckon that it will be comparable to the D60.

come to think of it, now i kind of doubt the authenticity of the pictures. The "EOS 10D" logo is placed in a highly unconventional position for a EOS camera. hmmm...... can anyone say doctored? |

may be that 10D is a prototype unit and that's why the logo look so fake....cos some of those prototype units that i handle also like that.... also...10D may be just a code name for internal use..so the final product may not call 10D in the end? anyway, look like there is no space on the left hand side of the body to put the logo also....
