No but have you tried removing battery, CF Card and switch on the camera and than re-inset the battery and CF card.
If all else fails than do a reset of the camera via the pin at the bottom near the USB port.

Sorry my previous post should read switch on and off than insert battery.

Actually even if it is a CF card failure I expect some display at the LCD panel but he say no display at all so.....

Bought at CP. March this year.

Have just reformated my CF card. Still the same.

I just discover another symtom.
When I press the play back or menu button.
The monitor will light up with that nenu. But then it will blank off when the
memory access lamp lights up

I had the exact same blinking menu problem, and the shutter refused to fire, some weeks back. It's strange because the camera worked fine the previous day and just died like that. The repair took 3 weeks, and I've heard that there are some others with the same problem. Our repair forms said that the light metering board was replaced. No idea what that means, but send yours in as soon as possible.

Here is the thread talking about it.

Ok, thanks. Will sent it in on Monday.
Come to think of it, my D70 did give me a 'Hang' problem twice before.

Thanks for all the help bro.

Suggest you bring it down to Nikon for repair. I had the same problem and they said it was some electronic card in the camera that was defective and that i had to wait for 4 weeks. I kicked up a fus cause I needed the camera urgently and they replaced the whole camera body for me. I cannot understand having sold so many in sinagpore I have to wait for 4 weeks for the parts. Sell and forget......

This is quite a worrying problem... several postings on DPeview with the same problem... think Gooseberry also got it last week, his D70 is now back in Nikon. Think someone mentioned that the problem seems to be the auto-exposure module, cause one guy got it to work for a while but his metering was WAAAY off..

More QC problems from the Thailand plant.. Nikon are you reading this?!?

Sounds scary...got my memory compression PCB and CE PCB (Whatever they are), replaced last week, now have only 4 months of original warranty left. Luckily extended 2 additional years with Harvey Norman.

Would definitely kick a big fuss if this blinking problem happens to mine.

Ya, The hard reset also don't work and it feels warm on the front middle bottom of the camera body.
My repair form says change light metering circuit board also.

When did you buy your camera?

Nikon SG doesn't keep parts as spares, normally when such cases arrive and they need to replace parts, the parts are ordered in rather than be available in stock.

Sell and forget is a rather unfair statement, you should try being in the other 'major' camp instead and see what's really sell & forget.

Once again, I don't receive any special treatment from Nikon, I've had my fair share of visits down to Nikon SG @ Chiang Chairn Road, the latest being last monday.

Good service
