Hi, thanks so much for the compliment. Both pictures were shot with 11-16 f2.8 tokina ultra wide angle lens with a canon 50D body. No filters were used however I did HDR/DRI post processing to them to bring out the details in the scenes.

you should be able to achieve a similar photo, but if its not so cloudy you should use a CPL filter to bring out the sky, though the TS's photo looks as if the light was filtered enough w/o a CPL.

I did HDR/DRI processing to the pictures so.. abit hard to replicate same shots with just one shot. Since you're new, you'd probably ask what is HDR/DRI then? It's the combination of three or more exposures to achieve more dynamic range in the picture.. Example.. being able to the get details from the whitest parts of the clouds by having an underexposure and details from shadows from an over exposure. Merging everything together with photomatix of adobe photoshop to get such images. =) Hope it helps you out! |

I believe I have read this somewhere, but they say an Expert is someone who has "tried somewhat alot of techniques and experiments for the time".
