@xherion,
From Geneva you can take train to Zermatt for 4-5 hrs.. Zermatt is the gateway to the swiss alps, from here you can choose many route to climb the alps... either hiking / train / vertical train / cable car etc... i choose to go to sunnegga paradise and blauherd to see the matterhorn from there... you actually can go to many routes even to the matterhorn itself... #24 this one taken during the hiking from the blauherd to the fluhalp ( it's the small house there, you can spend a night here http://www.fluhalp-zermatt.ch ) the weather is really bad and it's raining near the house... but very lucky to get rainbow because of the rain ![]() ![]() #25 and it's drizzling nearly the whole night, i was trying to do the startrail at the night, but the weather is just too bad... woke up early and standby since 5am waiting for the sunrise to come and the cloud to clear so i can see the matterhorn... the inn-keeper tell me it slim chance to see it, because the weather forecast mention it will raining also that day... but miracle happens.. about 7.30 am suddenly the clouds cleared-up... a bit late for sunrise but just nice to get first contact of sunlight on the peak of matterhorn... ![]() #26 this taken at the fluhalp, at the wooden deck alfresco area... can spend time having breakfast while seeing the matterhorn ![]() ![]() to be continue.. |

Ok, lets back again to Paris then
![]() i have a series of bad weather in Paris.. only manage to get the "ideal" weather at my last day there... so really trying to make use of the "good weather day" #27 queueing for about 1.5 hours before i can climb to notredame tower.. the view from there is marvelous.. with the gargoyle as the foreground of course ![]() ![]() #28 and i visit Musee d'Orsay to see some of their Van Gogh collections... the building was a train station before, until not long ago was renovated to become a museum. my favourite location there is at the giant clock room, you can see Sacre de Cour from behind the clock. ![]() Last edited by archlover; 3 Weeks Ago at 12:34 AM. |

then decide to visit Eiffel again in good weather ![]() i quite surprise to found that there's more than 1 carousel around Eiffel, i thought there's only one, the infamous "iamasaint paris' carousel" hehe... i passed one of it, having a snack there, and shoot while sit in that area. ![]() #30 Then i go around the Eiffel, before crossing the bridge to Trocadero.. ![]() |
