First time shooting this bird....I am more of a macro shooter than birder....but this fella was nearby.
FZ10, F4-F4.6, 1\500s By the way, is this a Little Heron? Appreciate any views on the shots....compo, etc. Is the BG distracting? #1:Looking right ![]() #2: Looking left ![]() #3:Balance ![]()

Nice.
BG not too bad as it's more uniform and not "rojak". my few cents.

nice series portraying this y. bittern in its natural environment in a predatory stance.
as for the bg, i have seen an image whereby the bird is positioned in the centre with its legs spread (doing a banana split), anchoring onto two straws! i hv no problem with the current bg. ![]() |

Thanks! Interesting to shoot other subjects.....that are much bigger than my usual take
Thanks! Did a search, and does look like one. It had blue feathers on the wings....so is it still called yellow bittern? Thanks!

Nice catch Tchuanye.
Yes that is a Yellow Bittern.BG is ok with me coz this shot is portraying the bird in its natural environment and thus not too distracting. |

Very nice pics
I thought the BG was good for the shot, without the BG there'll be less to these shots. Regards |
