Your 2nd day pictures are much better than your 1st day's.
Good actions captured here. I was there too. The 1st half of the afternoon was very hazy and the pictures turned out quite flat. Too tired and lazy to do any post-processing yet. |

Thanks. He seems to be sticking his toungue out all the time. Saw him do the same on both days. If you are just a spectator most probably will never notice it.

.Not very sure, but can feel that the subject colour is more vibrant also, that's why I was wondering is it flare (of the smog) due to angle of the sunlight.

Possible, hopefully next year if it comes again, hope for better weather
The haze also helps to reduce strong shadow. If it's clear bright day, then really have to watch out where the shadows fall, or else all get "black" face only.

Just finished pp. Most of my action pictures are too flat mainly because of the heavy haze. When I saw the narrow band on my camera's histogram that day, I was worried about how the pictures would turn out on bigger screen. After meddling my pictures for 2 days, I decided to make them into Black and White so that their flaws are not so obvious. ![]() As for my journey to DSLR, I have decided to go for another prosumer camera first : probably Fujifilm S6500fd as I wait for more choices and cheaper prices for DSLR and availability of A-mount lenses. Other than the costs of good lenses and availability of A-mount lenses, another reason why I'm staying put with a prosumer camera is because I dread the carrying of a heavy load of a DSLR, lenses and sometimes tripod. Moreover, the good high ISO performance of the Fujifilm prosumer cameras is just what I wanted. |

Yeah one big problem with A-Mount is lens availability. Why not Nikon and Canon, lots of lens options there now, both new and used. The DSLR body price will drop but the lens price will more or less be the same or some will cost even more in the future.
