'Cos that's the only way to get better photos out of a Canon DSLR if comparing to an Olympus DSLR + kit lens setup.
I have a Canon 20D and even though it is a really good camera, I find myself using the Olympus most of the time because of the weight factor and the superb quality of the Olympus kit lenses.

And a funny thing I noticed is that even though I had never felt that the mirror slap of the 20D was particularly loud when I was using it before, nowadays, the Canon 20D seems to sound really loud to me after using the Olympus DSLRs.

Hey, "L" lenses is a DOWNGRADE unless you are talking about Leica, which is a change of brand. ZD is up there among the best, and the best of the Jap crop. But everyone has their preference. I just don't understand why the move to Canon, maybe its because of the sheer choice of 3rd party lenses and accessories out there, and also like tomcat mentioned, less noise at higher ISO settings.

Other than that, I think moving to Canon is actually a downgrade unless he is going for full frame sensors. To get the most out of the lenses out there. Everyone has their preference. Just that among the bro (and sis) in here, we are the Olympians...
