Hi Guys
I think some of you may have made the comparison when you purchased your F11. apart from ISO capability, can anyone provide your opinions of why you may have chose the F11 over the canon one? Thanks. |

Hi,
IMO, if you are looking for a main camera I would suggest that you pick the A620, you can try more creative stuff with this camera, and the lcd screen is those flip and swivel type. If you are looking for a secondary camera or getting it for a lady, get the F11. It's a compact and fun camera that has superb ISO performance, good for parties and indoors. Very small and handy when you dont want to carry a DSLR ard in ur bag. |

I think F11 not suitable for ladies, they will find it too bulky. I buying a cam for my wife also. When she saw F11, no matter how good i said it is, she dun give a damn. She is fixed on the Ixus 55. sigh........

Novell, if you buying a cam for your own use, get the F11. The low noise level and credible sensor is really great. There are only a few manufacturers in the World that makes good sensors. Fujifilm is one of them.

I bought it because of the size. They are both about the same, but the F11 is much smaller without comprimising features. Easy for holidays that you need left hand for your kid, right hand for the stroller, and no place for the DSLR!

Thanks so far. Actually I am helping a colleague (female) and her daughter to get a cam for their travel. Just thinking of which 2 cameras to zoom in and will prob leave the choice to them. I think both cameras come close to each other in terms of quality and functionality, just that Fuji's xd card technology puts me off slightly.

Hi novello, actually i have the same dilemma choosing between the 2. I agree that A620 has more functions and would be better as an all-rounder than the F11. Also, i feel that the A620 is easier to use in terms of menu and stuff. However, ladies may find it slightly bulky. Especially as a travel cam. Basically I am probably gonna choose the F11 cos of its size. Though my final decision is not set yet.
Somebody's selling the A610 at $550 below. http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=163839 Or you can get an equote from MS color and buy from them, think they're selling the A610 at $528. I don't know about the A620's price cos I don't really need 7mp. Although it is in a far more attractive grey. Last edited by elhire; 2nd December 2005 at 11:57 AM. |

1. Better lens, 35-140 f/2.8-4.1 2. Swivel and Flip LCD 3. SD card (faster cheaper) 4. AA battery 5. Dedicated slave flash (optional) Despite of the size, if Canon A620 has the low noise capability as F11, I prefer the A620 over F11. |

So you get more pixel with better quality pics (lower noise) with 620. |

Most of my lady friends prefer camera with slim design and simple function. A620 is over kill for them. But as for me, I would go for A620/A610.

The F11 is good in everyway except that it can't accept conversion lenses and its lens has only 3X. The LCD has more pixels and is larger although it can't tilt nor swivel, but come to think of it, I don't think there are any cameras with 2.5' LCDs that do tilt or swivel. The F11 has a strong built-in flash. And the 6MP SuperCCD does produce more resolution than the 7MP A620. And despite the fact that the F11 uses a Lithium-ion battery, it can take an equal 500 shots. Considering that the Canon takes 4XAAs which are also capable of 500 shots, the F11 is actually better.
But both cameras are actually for very different sorts of photographers. So you can't compare apple to apple. |
