Forums Software updated

We have upgraded the Forums Software to the latest version which provides additional functionality for the members.

We are still testing and tweaking the settings but am opening up the forums for members while we continue the backend work.

Things which are currently NOT working (as at 11:45am)
1. Members avatars are globally turned off.
2. Buy & Sell - no new threads can be created
3. Random photos on Forums Index not showing.

List of new functionality (will be updated as and when we document the new stuff)
1. Members can toggle between WYSIWYG editing and Standard editing in the message posting interface (click on the A/A icon on the top right to toggle).
2. Size of the message posting interface can be lengthened and shortened (click on the arrows on the top right of the message posting box).

Since there are a lot of changes in the code, we recommend that all members clear out their cache in their browsers if you come across any anomaly.

To clear your caches
In Firefox, press CTRL-F5
In Internet Explorer, go to Internet Options > General tab > Delete Files...

Avatars and Avatar Placements have been fixed.

New guidelines for Avatars
Dimensions : 80 x 80 pixels
Maximum Size : 10KB

We have not cleared the avatar database as it may cause problems for members who may not have saved their current avatars, but we are requesting that members re-upload a new avatar as soon as possible. The new guidelines for avatars are aimed at reducing bandwidth used (old avatars were up to 15KB in size, thus the new sizes will save us approximately 33% in bandwidth used for avatars).

Avatar Placement
Can be on LEFT or TOP of posts depending on your choice in the User Control Panel (under Options).
Default position is on TOP of posts.

Forums software has been updated -> mainly bug fixes in this release.

Reminder
We recommend that all members clear out their cache in their browsers if you come across any anomaly.
