Default Temple of Heaven - Beijing, PR China

Just came back from freezing Beijing. Too cold to go anywhere, but the blue sky was a rare catch cos most of the time Beijing is quite polluted.

Good catch of the rare deep blue of Beijing! Enjoy your pics esp the dancer. She seems to be enjoying herself a lot.

I don't think it's too contrasty or too blue. I m China currently too and the photos that's coming directly from my camera is the same as the one chisiang is having. I just went to Japan for a assignment just couple of weeks back and the skies are the same as what i encountered in China.

Usually in winter, skies tends to be more deep blue and almost cloudless. When I was in Australia, this happends to same too. I m not sure whether chisiang use asy polarizer but my photos turn out to be the same blue and contrast as chisiang. I am using a D70 as well.

chisiang, great stuff BTW, and i can vouch that the lens here are much much cheaper than Singapore but only thing it's local China warranty.

any more photos to show?

is it over PS or over compression? I can see some artifacts especially on #4 and #5. But I enjoyed the pics very much, thanx.

The artifact is the result of compression. Tried my best to balanced between file size and quality.

Using Custom curves (fuji velvia) thus explains the contrast and saturation.

That's what ppl say: a picture is worth more than 1000 words

The artifical feeling of the blue is caused by the compression of RAW file and you wouldn't expect too much on a JPEG format
