Ya, most renovations at Tanglin Road side. But Bukit Timah Road entrance at the Visitor's Center is ok. No renovations at this side, should be able to grab some shots there and on the way towards the Orchid Garden and Ginger Garden area.

Can try Lower Pierce. No need to walk so much. It's just beside the main road. Scenery also as good as Upper Pierce.

So for your Oly 5050, I would recommend that you get a 62mm Hoya filter. Cathay Photo sells them at about $60 each and they do have stock, I believe.
I'm thinking of getting a 55mm. Cause the extension ring biggest that I have is 55 which is for the Wide-con lens... Is there any dSLR lens as small as 55?

Cool Ghost Town?

While in Perth, I further explored the "cuppa" IR methods. Is there any strange marks still? For the molding mark, i tried to position the ugly spot on a dark area, and smudge it around while exposing my CCD.

Its summer over here, temperature can reach 40°c or higher. That's why the rooftops and canopies are so "hot"...

Played around in PS and gave the R72 feel...

Cool

Hi ... is there a good IR filter for a 58 mm lense - say I am using EOS 300D
Sorry, I am quite new at this and this IR photography is very captivating.

1. Acrylonithrill, have you shoot using R72 on your Olympus 5050 before? Mine resulted in only black and white IR images, anyway to shoot colour IR images?

2. To anyone that can answer(Tomcat or IRMan?), I think I need a slightly less opaque than R72 kind of filter, because I believe, with a less opaque filter, maybe I can get some nice colour like Teerex's images. What is the name or kind of filter made for IR and yet less opaque than R72? Available in Singapore?

I am out of action now because no filter to nicely fit my 5050z , but going to get the hoya thing from a friend soon. Hopefully this works out. I really regret selling away my A80, although my new camera kick ass! I can shoot IR(with my 49mm R72) hand-held like Teerex's D70! But no colour lah.

I need a 62mm filter soon.....before the next BIG outing! IR Outing!

Cheers

Hi JohnQ Loi,

You may see that a number of IR people use the Hoya R72 filters.
The 58mm version is not too expensive (compared to say a 72mm one)

Do jump in to the IR world. But!! before you do do a bit of a search
as to the chances of hot spot with the lens you choose to use.

For starters check this link to a thread about lenses.

http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthrea...light=hot+spot

I hope this is of use to you

SBS 66, 67, 151, 153, 154, 156, 170, 171, 186 and TIBS 182 along Bukit Timah Road

most of these buses come down from the east side or town.

can we make it at 10am instead?

Hi Vortex, Thanks, I can still use my 49mm with my old lens just have to zoom in to avoid vignette.

Ark19, we have to go to Bedok Interchange to take No. 7(I stay in Marine Parade also )

I can't confirm 26 Dec, maybe got some product shoots for friend. Will try my best to be there.

Acrylonithrill, I tried to push the saturation a bit and realised there are some colours in my images, just very faint, that's why I thought of a less opaque IR filter, may be able to get some colours out. What's available in the market?

Lastly,
Merry X'mas, IR Gang!

Nope, will cut the filter to size using Dremel. Then fit into the 67mm filter ring. Only thing is the thickness is 1.5mm.... compared to the original filter thickness of 2mm ++.

Look for post #789 in page 40 of this thread... it is similar to R72, but without filter ring, have to DIY and cut to size or use cokin holder.

I'm at blk 19
