summarit 50mm f1.5 owners
Got a question for you. Hope you can help me.
Since this lens is using 41mm thread size and its near impossible to buy filters of this thread size... which filter are u using now?
I did some research... there is this Tiffen filters (quite rare though). But I am wondering if B+W 40.5mm filters can fit to this lens since there is 0.5mm difference?

i have read that in some cases u might actually fit a 40.5mm filter but slightly loose. so u may want to use a plumber's tape for the thread.

Re: summarit 50mm f1.5 owners
btw i found a reasonably priced light yellow original leica E41 fitlter on ebay and the condition looks good.
i am not good with color filter, if i use this filter on my lens, what impact will it cause to my photos (i am shooting film btw)?
i read from the description it will improve contrast. i am shooting mostly in b/w btw.

Fitting a 40.5mm filter on mine has no issues.
I am also using a 41 to 43mm step up ring & using e43 filters. The step up ring comes with a 43mm lens cap. i got it from ebay. Gotta fix my XOONS hood first before screwing the step up ring + filter on the lens.

Re: summarit 50mm f1.5 owners
my suggest is to use the step up or down ring. The original filter is very difficult to find, although u may still see some on ebay from time to time, . most with a very high price tag.
