Use the technique zone focusing, set shutter priority at around 1/125 (aperture should be around f5.6 to f16 in day), sneak to the bird as close as the zone of ur focus region, and when the bird fly aim at the bird and shoot. I am using focal length at 40mm and was quite close to the pigeon
