Default Purchasing Epson 3885 in Hong Kong

Is it a good idea to purchase the Epson 3885 printer in Hong Kong and lug the whole 20kg back to Sing?
The listed price in HK is only HK$9888 or about S$1600 while it is more than S$2600 in Singapore!!
    Any catch here?
If its good, where is the best place to buy in HK?
    Thanks..

I was also considering between that and a R3000. But if it is only for $200 more.. The 3885 is tempting with its larger print size and ink capacity. As for warranty.... The $1000 dollars difference can cover quite a few repairs... As for the transport... Just how to persuade dear wife to drag one back in one of her trips or wait for my next leisure trip there :-).
... .?? I'm assuming all the printers comes with a set of ink cartridge... HK and here... Or do they do the same in HK?? Therefore so much cheaper? ?

    ok loh.. then just buy
it should come with a set of inks. R3885 inks are much cheaper from r3000. But it depends how often and how many you print.

Just confirmed the retail price at HK$9800 inclusive of 1 set of ink. Looks like don't buy also can not already! :-)

I saw the price is about 9100HKD on price.com.hk. Looks like good price but I am wondering do you check in the printer? Will it mean we will need to pay 7% tax?

If you really need to but it there, better idea to courier it back by the cheapest method. (Surface). Airline baggage handling might knock the print heads out of alignment.

Thanks for the advice. Looks like there is 2-year onsite warranty in sg. That looks more reassuring, although at a premium. Will likely get in sg if finally getting one.

Alternative is to try to go to the upcoming computer fair and ask for free gifts. I got an extra set of inks the previous time which is quite substantial. the cheapest is actually USA, at one time it was going for less thank SGD1000 but you need to use a voltage convertor and import the inks as the 3885 and 3880 use different serial numbers (although they are the same formulation)
