    Take note: the screw indicated by red arrow is different from the 3 other screws

    Unlock the FFC connectors then remove the cables (no need to remove the cable for contact pins)


    carefully detach the Flexible board

    You can now remove the motor, the board and flexible circuit without desoldering the wires


    Remove the focusing ring

    The next step is a bit critical

    Adjust the focus to infinity and take note of the location of focus brush in the window indicated.
    Important: Remember the exact position of the brush when the focus is infinity.
    (There's a small arrow indication, but I didn't manage to take a picture)


    To turn the focus, just turn the ring with gear.
    The window indicated by red square is the location where to remove the focusing brush.
    Remove the screw once you have marked the exact position

    Remove the zoom brush. Remember to put markings

    Invert the front lens group to prevent dust from entering.

    Remove the defective cable and replace with a new part


    There's 2 small tabs to indicate theexact position

    Consult daredevil123 for the best adhesive the use to attached the Cable to the lens barrel

    Power! Have you done this on a 70-200VR before? If so, possible to share your experience?
    I noticed you managed to get the NEW spare flex cable. Are you able to buy these parts from Nikon SG?
