plenty of pics in my Flickr site using the 50mm, go take a look.

great lens! Love the bokeh and weight...

I'm curious, how do you use it for street candids? I thought to capture candids in their most natural moments, the photog shouldn't be 'intrusive'?

I tried using the 50mm to cover an outdoor event - Shine Mascot... i find myself competing for the best spot with the other photogs. With the 50mm, i gotta go closer than normal... ;\

Just be yourself and shoot... I shoot normally in full view of the subject and sometimes they don't even know that they have been photographed.

Sometimes, I purposedly stand in front of them and let them know that they are going to be my subject. It all depends on what you wish to do for the shots...

yea, i was being myself when I was using the 50mm.... but bad experience @ the Shine Mascot event.

Was taking my 1st shot for the day @ Ironman... the assistant literally moved in to stand in front of my lens without warning and stared @ me, asking me what I was doing. What else could I be doing holding a cam... ? I considered that a very unfriendly act, in comparison with the rest of the paraders I've taken a shot at.

But anyways, i juz waited for the assistant to move away before taking my shot.

To those who are still pondering of whether to get this pc of glass.. My advice (I believe many CSers will think likewise) for you guys is to get this wonderful lens. I would not say this lens is a workhouse where you can mount it on your DSLR all the time (especially for DX users). However, this very fun lens can take really sharp pictures/portraits and its price is so inexpensive! Definitely worth the money...

haha... but the 50mm range is limited though.
I was 'fumbling' with it when i used it for my 1st outdoor event coverage.
Ended up switching to 18 - 105 instead, feel more comfortable with it.

Starting out to use the 50mm for non-events 1st, to get used to it.
