Re: D5100 user...fall in!!
Just have the time to test out my 2 weeks old D5100 today, no regret getting it as a backup body after looking at the output.
Need time to get use to the f-stop and shutter speed dial though.
Here are some pictures taken this morning at my block void deck.

Congrats on getting your new cam but we can't see any photos you just posted. It says content protected by owner. Upload again?

Wow love the photos you uploaded
! Very sharp with good colours. This cam will definitely serve you well. The only minor gripe I had initially was the strange combination of buttons I have to press to access the ISO or aperture.

Thanks mds80, ya agree that it's kinda troublesome to adjust the ISO and aperture.

Re: D5100 user...fall in!!
bro, for the cat and the flower pics, r they taken as macro/potrait? i observed that the focus are more in the centre, for example the cat is on its face and the rest blurred and the flower are more dead centre and the rest blurred. what effect is this called? thxs to share.

Re: D5100 user...fall in!!
Bro those blur 'effect' are caused by depth of field. The distant of the subject, focal length and aperture affects the sharpness of the photo from the focus point. What you see in the pictures have shallow depth of field which low f-stop and long focal length lens were being used.
It can be achieve with almost all lens however the DOF intensity may varies with different lens. Tele, Macro, low f-stop lens may produce nicer and deeper shallow DOF photos.
