Default Larger Format - non technical discussions - outings, chat etc

    Hi

The thread started by shadowleong is amazing, as no one expect a LF thread to go beyond 1000 posts, it went 1200 posts infact.

It contains lots of good info inside.. but also alot of non technical stuffs inside... so i think it will be good to have one thread just for LF knowledge and one for non technical info, outings etc.. The idea is that we can all subscribe to this thread and then when someone propose a new outing, we will get informed via email. I hope this can keep the LF interest ongoing and create some bonding also.

    what do you think?

If this is not needed, I will be more than happy to delete it, as it may onlyu waste CS resources .

i thought to get jobo 2509 rail to do 6 sheets , that way i can have the option to do one sheet also (using jobo 2820 print test drum)
but saw some bad experience reported here

so i am thinking to get jobo 3010.. but seng cheong is out of stock for all expert drums...

    u getting which tank?

I have been looking around UK for a orbital, dont really like the idea of hand rolling, (quite hard to reproduce the same accuracy everytime)

A processer would be overkill for me right now, I was thinking of maybe just settling for a jobo drum is all else fails,

Have been wanting to ask sweat100 and wootsk what drumm they are using, since that one can do 4x5, 25mm and 120, i just have to get the reel for it

I am using a 2820 tank. If u plan to use it, get the 4x5 reel first cos I guess seng cheong stock is limited. Doubt they will replenish stock.

To use the 2509 well u need the 2508 film guide. It helps a lot. Didn't have any issues for me once I got the 2508.

Just as we think 20x24 is about the biggest you can go. Chanced across this link on ultra large format. I guess this is the biggest camera I have ever seen (excluding pinhole). You can literally walk into the bellows of the camera and instead of a light table, you have to use your window to inspect your negatives!

Lolz, the list can go on, but above all this requires dedication and money. The tougher the path, it will requires more dedication or money or both. For such coverage, if you are not using a pinhole, you are mostly using a lens inverted fom a lighthouse lamp or some lens design close.

everyone must be busy with CNY preparations. We and my friends used to do overnight shooting on CNY eve. We would go River Angbao to shoot the fireworks at midnight and then go to Chinatown and finally to Waterloo St temple. by 4-5am will be knocked out hahaa.

Sorry for the OT haha just a slow day.

    hello bro

where got OT? haha.. this is for gen info one.. anything can fit...

i received a letter from post office yday, saying the custom detained my Sinar.. and ask me to pay GST first before they will release.. wth.. why can't they just send it to me and bill me the GST.. if they pay for me, they charge $10+$5 (asking me to pay gst and yet i have to pay them to charge me... and i also dun understand why i need to pay GST for oversea purchase.. ).. so i think it is better for me to go collect today ...

oh.same thing happened to me when i bought my Toyo 2 yrs back. What happened was the seller did not declare a value or attached an invoice on the box so the customs did not know how much to charge for the GST. So I had to bring my ebay invoice or receipt down to show them. The GST is charged based on the price and the shipping charges!!

Ok so go yr bring yr wife , Sinar today!
