Around Vietnam with my RF
Travelling light this time round, with my M8+Elemarit 28
Visited Hanoi and Sapa from 17th to 22nd
Its kinda warm now,but really enjoyable in Sapa
It was my 1st time in Vietnam, luckily we had a friend to introduce the nice places in Hanoi
This was shot in the old quarters,
i found that area pretty confusing and got lost in the myriad of streets a few times

The hot sun was unforgiving and we went up this cafe,Lily cafe iirc
to take a break and take in the view as well
Those who have been to Hanoi will surely know where this place is

Re: Around Vietnam with my RF
Scenes like this in the old quarters are not uncommon
We had our dinner with the locals with our friend
Like what they say, when in Rome,do as the Romans do

Our friend brought us to this cafe above the streets
pity, the open air seat was taken
Its actually quite hard to find this place if you dont know about it
The entrance is inside another shop

Re: Around Vietnam with my RF
Bicycles in the old quarters are common
as are the straw hats they wear

Take note of this address if you want to go here
Its open air,and very windy
11 Hang Gai st
follow the dark alley to a courtyard and up the spiral stairs to the top

Re: Around Vietnam with my RF
We then headed to Sapa
The train leaves from Hanoi to Lao Cai,and then via car to Sapa
This lady was trying to persuade us to buy her handicraft, but we saud no
she gave up and sat down, chatting with us
A very friendly lady who welcomed us to Sapa

New hotels are constantly being build,as our guide in Sapa explained
New,bigger,better views
Tourism is thriving there, but at what cost?

Pano of Sapa,Cat cat village

the cat cat village trek takes about 2-3 hours
good to start in the early morning to avoid the afternoon sun

very nice images and coverage
thank you for the thread.
It is an illusion that photos are made with camera...they are made with eye, heart and head - HCB
