It's just personal preference... a very normal male's preference.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it... just as masterbation is a very normal male activity.
What I'm saying is... she's right.

Re: Xiaxue blogs about Clubsnap
personally(just me ok?), i find a group of men pointing all sorts of cameras at race queens in a tight(like it right?) environment, disturbing. Face it, that's not photography, that's just SEX selling.
Nothing wrong of cos. We know some guys can't stop, just like we can't stop XX from her opinion about them.

I think paying to shoot a more attractive subject (which is a bit subjective... because some of these models are rather sub-par) is a rather empty affair. I think you won't learn more about photography by shooting attractive subjects vs our friends and family.
Why do people pay to shoot then? That's were I think Xiaxue got it pretty spot-on. She may use very strong language because she's an attention seeker, but there's a lot of truth in what she said.
You do know that there is more to models than their looks right? The right model with good experience will be able to help contribute to bringing out the emotions of the photos. I am not going to comment on family shooting as it's an entirely different category. I'm not a model shooter nor am I interested in portraiture, but I don't see anything wrong with want to shoot more attractive subjects.
I guess for those who picked sub-par models who have no idea how to pose and makeup for to save their own lives are probably shooting for other reasons, but shooting with a very good and experienced model is a very different experience.

Hmm, if she's right, that means shooting XMMs instead of your frens & relatives is not right.
If both are not wrong, then who is wrong?

Re: Xiaxue blogs about Clubsnap
let me guess the intention :
- blogger posted such a topic on her blog (news about sex indirectly)
- get notice on clubsnap (very hot website)
- media gets notice of it and advertise it on papers
- hit rate of blog goes up after papers published it
- advertising on her blog can collect fees etc...
BUT...
blogger forget those photos used are property of some photographers.. it just take someone who knows the copyright law, got fed up with pictures being used without permission, and blow this matter into a legal suit case ... the ball is now in photographers' court, not blogger's

I don't think she said it's wrong. I can't be bothered to read it again... but there's something about wanking... something about pervert.. or something like that lah.

Masturbation? Haha, though masturbation is common, I don't think I've seen anyone doing it openly leh.
Keep section 377A, don't let them turn it into the Penile Code!

Nothing wrong with free speech. Look, see how eloquently she puts her point across, how can anyone not be convinced? I mean, she KNOWS what these guys are thinking and she SEES what their dicks are doing! You've got to give her credit!

if anything, the maligned gentleman in this photo may well sue xiaxue for defamation and publicly labelling him a wanker!

blogger is smart enough to cover the eyes of mentioned subject, but below, photographer face can been seen .. ,maybe she forget to censor it too.
blogger knows abit of the law and is very careful in certain aspects... but again photos used were not authorised by photographers..

Well... if the photographer is being paid to shoot a particular theme that requires certain mood/emotions to be captured for a particular purpose... then what you say is true. Then you would want to talent scout and find the correct model, get the correct shoot director, MUA, etc... but that's not what's going on.
Take a look at the adverts... lingerie theme, bikini, Sailor Moon... What do you hope to learn from these? What is going on here? The answer lies in Xiaxue's blog. Again, I don't think there's anything wrong here... but I think it's not about photography. I think the organised shoots where you can actually learn about photography are few and far between.

I think paying to shoot an attractive subject is an excellent way of learning
I think not paying to shoot an attractive subject is an even more excellent way of learning
Let's face it, grandmas and friends are ugly.
