B+W filters: worth paying so much?

if i had known i would have gone for that - vignetting is a big prob for me now

I think it's just a thinner ring. Still you'll have to remove your UV/NC before putting on the pol if you're using ultra wide.

I like to check with the owners of B+W CPL filters, are you able to mount your len cover if the len is fitted with the filter? Someone mentioned that the len cover cannot be fitted on the slim type, how about the normal ones?

Apart from stacking the UV filter on the CPL, what is the purpose of having the slim ones, any difference in terms of optical quality between the slim and normal ones?

I think the slim CPLs does not have a thread in front, so you can't stack anything else in front of it.

The normal one will vignette a little. What is the range that it starts will be difficult to tell as its different for different thread size.

i also up for Heliopan. really like no glass in the filter. and the polarizer is sooooooo neutral. problem is Heliopan's rim is not as solid as B+W.

when you've used B+W filters, you don't want to use any other filters...

Right on man! I started out with the Hoya HMCs cos they were cheaper. But the build quality (the thin springy metal ring thingie that keeps the lens in the filter housing has come loose in a few of my Hoyas before) and irritatingly difficult to clean lenses really bugged me. Let's just say after i got my first B+W i haven't bought another Hoya (UV at least).

Agree, such as Leica. In fact Leica does make filters but they're rare.

In fact, most of the qian-bei or lao-qiao here will surely recommend B+W. Been there, done that a lot more than we do.

I used Nikon and am a satisfied customer.
Then i tried out B+W filters and i realised what i missed.
Cleaning them on the go is so much easier.
Otherwise optically they are both

Nope. I only have the polarizer. haha. Try shooting without Filters. ;-p
