2) 28-112mm f2 f2.8, there is no such lens in FF, APS-C, m4/3, compact P&S to give this focal length and aperture
3) Needless to mention, CMOS sensor at DR400% is amazing. At beach, I could have lots of detail on the extreme end, the human face and the detail of cloud
4) Can shot in RAW, good noise control up to ISO1,600
5) Lots of button control
6) Fuji color ! accurate WB
7) Fuji intelligent flash (together with ISO and DR settings) is very very good. Fill in flash is accurate and u never have over exposed situation. That eliminate me to carry additional flash unit. Hard to explain if u have to use it and realize the effect.
If you are keen, you can molest my X10 during JBOG Jun112 outing next week.
A very good summary from user himself. That sums up my experience for my fav x10.

Just ordered one thumb rest from lensmate:
Lensmate: Lensmate Fujifilm X10 Thumbrest Black

Looks like a better match to X10 than the HorusBennu one

Re: Fuji X10, so pretty!
Have the X10 camera for a couple of weeks already, last Friday was the first time I actually used it for some serious shootout.
It's my daughter's school's Culture Night. My daughter (Primary 2) was w/ the choir team, I rushed to the theatre after work, just in time for the whole show. Took some photos and videos w/ X10, but most time I just sat there and enjoyed the show. I have to say those teachers and kids did a wonderful job, I'm so glad that my daughter can live and study in such a happy and beautiful school:
The show started w/ fork music:

Then the cheer leaders:

The choir team showed up after that, I had some hard time finding my daughter in there due to the make up and costume. They even got two members in wheel chairs

The chinese dance was pretty good:

The Malay dance was even better:

But it's the Indian dance that made us laugh the most:

Can't do w/o the International dance:

The show was so much fun, we didn't expect the grand finale came so soon:

BTW, all photos taken in JPG, w/ some cropping and rotation due to my not-so-ideal seat. Hope you enjoy these photos.

Re: Fuji X10, so pretty!
I just got my X10 yesterday and the camera is pretty complex.
One thing, does anyone here shoots raw?
The raw format is really weird. I am trying to get a DR400 raw file out where basically the pixels have different exposures. EXR DR mode does not allow me to save raw....
All other modes basically uses ISO400 and underexposes the shot. Even if I set A mode, ISO100 and DR400% vs DR100%, I realise that the pic for DR400% is two stops brighter even though they have the same shutter and fstop. I suspect that at DR400%, the camera forces ISO400.
There does not seem to be a way to get the "special" RAW with with pixels at different shutter speeds. This is really weird... is Fujifilm kidding us when they say they have managed to get the sensor to expose pixels at different timings?

Never shot raw on this thing and never will (me myself). Its jpg output is good enough, and I use such a camera for convenience, not for the best IQ (good enough to record daily life and travel but still fun to play). I'd use m4/3 for better IQ or dSLR for best IQ.

Another quirk I found is if you set adobeRGB color, the colors appear really wierd on the X10 LCD. Two pics taken side by side in SRGB and AdobeRGB appears totally different on the X10 LCD.
mmm... not sure if it is because the X10 is not color profile aware or there is something screwed up with the AdobeRGB representation.
Actually I thought X10 is a "DSLR replacement" targeted at photo enthusiast.
On one hand it has like freaking 4 dials on the camera, comes with manual zoom ring, viewfinder, AF On button,
On the other hand it has like broken AdobeRGB, broken raw file, LCD refuses to stay off when I use the viewfinder,etc...

what raw converter do you use?
There are a lot of discussions on the web about broken Raw converters... I am not so interested in resolution but I am hoping to get the extended DR on raw during processing.
