Just buy a brand new 60mm F2.4 and enjoy first. By the time a 56mm F1.4 is out, you may have sold your X-Pro1!
Test out the lens at your usual shop where you bought your X-Pro1. If you can take the slightly slower AF speed, it is sharper and smoother than the 35mm F1.4. Solid portrait lens it is.

Re: 60mm f2.4 Or. 56mm f1.4
It's a bit slow in AF if you compare it with the 35mm or 18mm (fastest of the 3). But if you are using purely for portraits with minimal movements in your subject, it serves the purpose really well. Sharper than 35mm, and smoother bokeh. Very limited macro capabilities though, so can't shoot those nice bugs like those with raynox lenses.
Most people will be happy just with their 35mm since it is sharp and relative faster than the 60mm. Very versatile as you can use it for most situations. The fact that X-Pro1 is 1.5x crop, the 60mm lens is actually a 90mm lens in real term, and will need more stable hands to take good shots since there is no OSS built in.

Personally I won't get either the XF18 or XF60 if you already have the XF35. I'm looking forward for the XF14 to see what Fuji has thrown in on their new lenses. If you can wait just wait for another 6 months to see how the XF56 performs.
I won't say XF60 is bad, I am just hoping the new XF lenses has newer technologies like rear focusing/ floating elements, improved AF speed, better MF etc. I own both the XF18 and XF35 but I do hope future XF lenses can do much better.

Same here. I currently have the 35mm and will wait for the 14mm. Itching to buy the 18mm but I will hold out for the 14mm.

The 23mm and 56mm are rumoured to be f1.4. Assuming that they are as good as the 35mm, they are worth waiting for.

The 56/1.4 will be such a sweeeet lens! If the current XF35 is anything to go by, the wide-open performance of XF56 is likely to be awesome. Can't wait!

How about the 23mm ? Sounds like a good proposition......
Also, hope the XF14 has better performance than the XF18. If with similar corner performance, I'll likely give it a pass...

the XF18 ain't that bad in corners... I would rate it the same as my 16-35L II. I'm more interested to know if the future XF lenses have hard infinity stop, DoF scale etc... if that happens I foresee myself getting the XF14, XF23, XF56 (might consider keeping the XF35 for sentimental value LOL!)

Interesting conversation about the lenses that are coming up. Anyone thinking about the zoom lenses: the 18-55mm & the 55-200mm. The usual lenses for traveling? Hopefully the 18-55mm isn't heavy, and if it's sharp, then it'll be a great lens to have I reckon.

Hmm... I'm not interested in any XF zoom lenses except for the 10-24 UWA. Personally I find the x-pro1 best used as a rangefinder-style camera. Getting the zoom lens and not using OVF seems to defeat the purpose of getting into this system. Hopefully I am wrong; hopefully Fujifilm's zoom lenses allow use of OVF (maybe by changing the framelines on the fly when zooming?).

I thought the 18-55mm was interesting coz it's bight (F2.8-F4), which is better than some DSLR equivalent (usually starting from at least F3.5). Hopefully like you say the OVF frame lines will adjust when zooming, but I highly doubt that coz the frame would be very small at the long end of the zoom.

it may be possible on future iterations of x-pro1. On the x-pro1, 18-55mm focal length not only requires the framelines to adjust accordingly based on the focal length but also to swap the 0.37x with 0.6x magnification as one zoom's past 35mm.

It's not impossible for corrected frame lines to appear after focusing.
What would be good is that OVF stays in unmagnified mode, with frame lines for 18 and 55mm. After focusing the corrected frame line for the zoom appears. Seems like the most logical way of doing it.

I would hold on for 56/1.4 but in meantime will use the om 50/1.4 adapted in xpro1. Would have hoped for focus peak in future.
