Default X-PRO1 with F Mount Adaptor with both G Lens and Nikkor AI-s

Due to some request to shoot more sample shots for Fujifilm Singapore, the X-PRO1 is in my hands this weekend again. However the prime lens was out on loan and so I have to use the Kipon Nikkor G-FX Adaptor

The range of lens used in the exercise includes
    - Nikkor 50mm F1.4 AFwith aperture ring (circa 1980s)
    - Nikkor 35mm F2.8 with aperture ring (circa 1980s)
    - Sigma Macro 70-200mm F2.8
    - Sigma Macro 18-50mm F2.8
    - Tokina 11-16mm F2.8
    - Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6

The following are just some pictures. I will end with a really in depth look at my experience with the X-Pro1 for the three weekends in total via my blog post

    As usual, questions are welcomed.

Super Trees of the Gardens by the Bay.

Taken with: Fujifilm XPRO1 with Tokina 11-16mm F2.8

15 seconds, F22 (right to the end of the aperture ring), ISO (L) 100

Seen too many pictures with the colours of the super trees so when there was a lull when all the trees' lights are off, the sky and the trees merged to become a 'real' super tree with branches reaching out to the clouds like foliage of a real tree.

This has become my picture of the day and perhaps will also be the picture of the weekend and a candidate for picture of the year. Heck, even picture of a lifetime (together with my moon shot @ Alaska)

Am particular amazed by the clarity as one can see the texture of the flower to the point that one can see fibre coming off the petals. One don't need 36MP to do that. At this point I would say the image quality arguments for Full Frame is now not as clear cut. I shoot events and even Full Frame do not have that 3D pop up effect of old cameras such as Olympus Pen-Series (yes there were really that good and people still ask me why I feel the MFT is not up to its old standard!). Digital Imaging still has some ways to go to hit the old IQ of the film era but it is heartening to see that the X-Trans Sensor is slowly bringing that IQ back. What's more this picture and the previous ones are done with a DX lens from Sigma! Just says a lot about DX format lens is still not dire in the IQ department as manufacturers is leading the consumers to see. For that the argument for a DX Professional body such as the D300s is compelling. Ok enough preaching.

    Skin Tone test 50mm F1.4

Skin Tone Test 50mm F1.4 using F1.4. Note that even good lens can display the same effects as the X100 at F2.0. But I welcome the dreamy effect.
