Distortion seems controlled. But at such wide angle, there is bound to be a little distortion. I have yet to try Panasonic lens on Olympus body. Still waiting to get the summilux when vit M allows.

Olympus Viewer 2 can correct CA too, but the CA on this shot is really bad.
Wonder if the shot was taken with iEnhance and/or Auto gradation mode, since the sky was totally washed out. I find that using these 2 modes give the picture a little too much contrast and sharpening, and accentuate CA.

I am interested in 12-50 its a good travel lens :-) last time when I was in Beijing I have EPL2 plus PL25mm and 12-42IIR kits and the samyang 8mm f3.5 FE still light but with laptop and office gears things start to become heavy... so was thinking if i could just survive with 12-50 and maybe PL25mm lolx coz noticed that i was using the 1442kit most of the time shooting at landscape.... but the kit lens had some distortion at 14mm which you can manually correct using LR have not seen or tested 12-50 how bad it is at 12mm :-)

The 12-50 is indeed very versatile. Weather sealed, and inexpensive.
But i can see a great difference when comparing similar shots taken with the 12-50 and 45mm ... the sharpness of 45mm is simply not present on the 12-50. I know i am comparing a prime lens with a kit lens. I keep the 12-50 only because its weather sealed. For landscape i think the 12mm prime lens will be more useful.
As for 12-50mm, I must resist shooting above f8. But with ISO starting at 200 and shutter speed max out at 1/4000, sometimes i have no choice but to push the f stop up higher when under very bright day light, like what i experienced when shooting in the Cloud Forest greenhouse at the Gardens by the Bay. I'll post some of the GBTB pictures when i have enough quota to upload to flickr again.
What I intend to do is, get a cheap second hand EPM1 or EPL2 as a second body to mount the 45mm and on my OMD mount the 12mm when i travel. And bring the 12-50 along in case it rains and i need to shoot in the rain.

Re: [ Gallery ] - Images from Olympus micro 4/3 cameras
I am beginning to regret not getting the 12-50mm as my kit
After seeing so many good example of the photos by this lens, I really think I should have gotten it. Btw... they sold this lens separately?

Buying separate is just too crazy price. not worth buying new separately when you can get as good, as new from bns with warranty -ard $350. Certainly an all-in-one lens, just doesn't do anything exceptional except weatherseal, imo haha

Exactly. Nothing special except weather sealed. And probably very versatile focal range.

Not just lens. Good skills and techniques play a bigger part of taking nice photos.

Yes, I understand that. What I meant is that the I really like the range of the lens... it cover all my needs without me needing to keep changing lenses when I am on the go. Of course skills and techniques plays a part
