i love beancurd...! where is this beancurd from...?? and just a little comment... the background dun put an empty bowl (is that sesame paste??) .... i prefer if the background has got other objects or uneaten food... :x

any idea how to get rid of those shadow casts like the above...? is the only solution to use diffuser/bounce flash...? i always get such problems when the seat i am in has got bright lights shining down... sometimes the angle i want to take photo will cast shadow of my own arm on the photo... and because it's "street photography" ... it's not always possible to shift the food to another location so as not to have shadows...

I never use flash, cos the light is directly on top of me.
