I am a noob P&S photographer but wife is suddenly into photography and wants to purchase a DSLR.

Will use camera mainly for:
- Potrait shots (we have a baby now)
- Wants "back ground" faded effect ;p

Currently I'm looking at the Sony A230/330 or perhaps a used one of the same series.

Will the 18~55 lens be sufficient for my needs. is there a need for the 55~200 or 70~300 lens?

Sony shop claim they will tive 8GB, carry case, battery and tripod whole retail shops won't for the promo price of 899. True or ...?

Need advice.

Thanks

Hi everyone,

i've been shooting with D5000 (kit lens) for good 3-4 months now... and learning everyday.
now want to get some new equipment... but not sure what... hope you guys can help me decide...
my dillema is wether to buy the nikkor 35mm f1.8 lens (which i read many reviews on and looks like perfect lens for me, coz i do really like shooting portraits) or the speedlight sb600 (which will help me greatly with indoor shooting and more)

at the moment i just have the kit lens which is alright, but not that good in low light, indoor.
so im thinking both the 35mm f1.8 lens and the sb600 can help my situation. the price is roughly the same as you prolly know... so which one to get? no matter what i buy now i will prolly buy the other one later for sure... but which i should get first?

any comments will be appreciated...

When i'm using, sometimes flares might be occured in the photo. I bought it for protecting the len. (i'm a careful user which i don't think i'll scratch the lens or whatever). Just protecting from dust etc.

So can experienced buddies here give some advice?

I saw in mass sale, screw in 77mm Tianya CPL filter only costs $35, but read also that QC is very bad.

The price guide, http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=263716, also has Hoya 77mm CPL at $70 and Tokina 77mm CPL at $45, but I don't know how updated is the price.
