Hey guys,

Looking to buy a scanner to cut down my film costs. However I am slightly confused how would I go about the process of scanning the 35mm film when I am shooting the Xpan in Panoramic mode, as I have previously sent my film to stores only.

I am looking at possibly the Epson V600, not to sure the process of scanning the panoramic though. But any other suggestions on scanners which I can use that will also simplify the scanning process are welcomed.

Thanks guys!

Hi

i finally make my monstser enlarger stand up .. it is much easier to work this way comapre to projection on wall (due to space constraint, heard Ansel Adam use wall projection, but he don't live in HDB pigeon hole either)..

tried some prints yday.. my first print is 5s at f8.

i tried some dodging and burning.. but it is a failure.. my subsequent prints look worse than the first!

just curious how you guys make tool to dodge and burn? if you wan to burn a door, do you cut out a door shape from cardboard? or you stil use the same board with a small hole?

but say you decide to add one stop for the door, and you use a board with small hole, how can you be sure the door got one stop more light since you don't expose the whole door all at once for one more stop of light? Or i just adjust the timer to give 2 or more stops more instead.. just try and error?

next question is more important, for dodge and burn, do you switch to much smaller aperture so that you can have more time to dodge and burn? i tried 5s dodge and burn yday, and it is a mess!

by the way i don't have a timer also.. need to get one

Brought the kids out to the "vintage" playground by Raffles Place MRT, shot some photos with Rollei Retro 80S film. Processed the film in Rodinal @ 1:200 concentration (3ml in 600ml of water) for 90 minutes @ 20C. Interesting results, I personally felt the negatives still came out a bit "overexposed"... I might have to move to 1:250 concentration next round.

Hi, managed to try out the Rollei Retro400S film this past week, with a new Fuji Klasse W compact.
The negatives were processed in Rodinal, stand developed for 90 minutes (1:150) @ 20C.

IMHO, this concentration was still too strong! Next time, will try 1:200 dilution.

The eyes look particularly scary!

This was "accidentally" shot at ISO 1600, a 2-stop push. I felt the results were not too bad, not as grainy as I had expected.
