it is the best talk along with last year SAM. tks to Cathay, CS n their staff, all the wonderful speakers n instructors...

alot of selfless sharing from the speakers and instructors, who are all full time professional photographers with very strong portfolio!

Anyone care to share the interesting and important points? Everytime when I see an event posting, it is either over-subscribed or over. =(

Some interesting points I observed:
1. These professional are very humble about themselves. They are just like one of our shooting buddies. Though they have achieved greatness in this field, they are willing to listen and to share with you their experiences.
2. They are NOT afraid to tell the public that they are not familiar with all these high-tech cam gears, as they started using film camera.
3. When they first started, they learned the hard way, they made mistakes but they worked very hard to overcome all the obstacles.
4. They started poor, using made-do props and gears, and they do not worship gears. They are only interested about their images.
As for those important points related to photo-shooting, lighting, poses, you have got to be there to appreciate. Anyway, the points made are all quite common-sense but from the speakers, you tend to remember them better.

Most of us are thankful for the efforts put in by the familiar staffs of Cathay Photo for their loan of those expensive equipments, beautiful models, their time, and also the friendly faces of Clubsnap working committee, and not forgetting David, Matthew and Eng Howe.

one of the speakers, albert if i am not wrong, share on how to use a softbox as a hair light by removing the front cover of the softbox. he also mentioned he uses a 2 light setup most of the time.

there is really no hard rule in lighting.. some prefer more , some like a minimalistic approach to lighting..

Matthew also share with us his journey, how he started etc.. it is really very interesting... i always enjoy listening to others' journey and experiences... it can inspire you.
