Are you using M-mode? In M-mode you can set your shutter time right? So you go from 1/something to 0"3 and then lets say 5s and so on. You turn the dial (you gotta try which dial u shd use to do that), then you turn the dial all the way pass 5s, 10s, 15s and so on until pass (i think) 30s, u get a big "BULB". That is your bulb mode.
I used to use the cheapest gear I can get.

Another user who bought a new gadget, then when don't know how to use a function, go screaming his head off.
Having been in tech support long time ago, such users must have existed even when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Can't be helped.

Looks rather like "Basics of DIY learning and using existing sources" .. the manual is part of the box. It's beyond me why he ignores it.

As some of the seniors here have mentioned ( Not the RTFM ones ) turn the dial to the slowest shutter speed and thats bulb mode. you will see it stating BULB on the display.
And yes you can increase more then 2 sec for timer shots. up to 10 secs i think
