Canon 5D Mark 3 Poll: Bought or Not

I initially gave up on the 5D3 and thought I would wait for Sony´s new mirrorless FF camera: the 5D3 seems too heavy and expensive for me. But after struggling with image composition using the darn EVF/LCD (dynamic range is far too limited), I am back in the Canon camp. To hell with big, heavy and expensive: I don´t care any more.

Getting the 5D3 + 50 f/1.4 lens in May.

waiting for me to be more free from work after april then i have more time to go shooting. been aiming for upgrading to FF couple of years ago by slowly buying only EF lenses while using 500D. bonus is in today! so shall get in soon once stock is in

My wait is not a question of time, but a question of how the 1Dx is priced and the differences. Also how the D800 is priced (not that I will consider that).
At the current price, 41xx?, I still feel it can come down. The hype is still there and this is not representative of what the real market price should be, so I'll wait.

We buy mkiii now at $41xx, sell 3-4yrs later @ $2k when mk4 launch.. or buy 2 yrs later when it drops to $3k then sell @ $2k when mk4 launch abt a yr or 2 later.. isn't the depreciation almost the same or betta when buy during launch??

Just came from HN Funan. The lady at the counter gave me the best as 4476, but have to sign up for the membership thing. Sian. Or is anyone willing tell me where I can get at 44xx without doing any funky stuff over PM?

hmm... that is very weird. i know i am not wrong. I was quoted $42xx and was told if pay by credit card plus 3% and if instalment another 2% which adds up to about $44xx... but cash is $42xx

Nah, still haven't bought it yet. Still considering if is worth the extra $200 to bring it to Japan. I got until Tuesday afternoon. The price I got is out of my budget as I still need to get the extra battery, 77mm UV filter and some other little whatnots essential for the trip.

Did you manage to get the D800 pricing? Heard its quite similar to the 5D3.

Thanks for the tip. I realised I should have done this just now, as I walking back to City Hall. I'm going try BnS to see if anyone wants to split the kit with me.

At 4450 for body only, might as well get the kit lens for $900 more. 24-105l can easily fetch 1k or more on bns.
