Call up Canon digilab. I believe they can accomodate you in the class. Like I mention, I ever attended it with a guy who uses the 1DIV. Should be able to get a seat.

nope, you are right on that actually. the pro-togs did suggest that 5D3 locked on focus faster than 1D4 in bad lighting conditions, such as candlelight, then 5D3 may be the choice. Some even called 5D3 a poor man's 1DX.

but note that these photogs do mention that outside such extreme poor lighting condition, the AF speed and accuracy of 1D4 is still better than 5D3, due to dual processors

Share with you these 2 threads of discussion, interesting read if you had the time.

For those with not so much time, here's some quotes:

$1899 is really kinda cheap even if its a grey set for the mkII considering the RRP is $2300 USD (if i remember correctly). Very tempting sia...

You don't have to turn off IR assist lamp. Cos the 5D Mk.III does not have an IR assist lamp :P

Please excuse the newbie question, the 5D3 has built in IR assist beam?

Hi, for those waiting for the lcd screen protector for the Canon 5D mk iii, you may try for usd0.90 the rinco 3.2" from dealextreme or go xoskins or if you have a spare screen protector for your tablet, cut it up n do it yourself which I did while waiting for proper ones like from GGS. I know that the camera already has a protector but I m sure we would like the original screenprotector to be pristine always, right?

There's already a screen protector protecting the LCD inside the camera.

So basically we also buy a screen protector to protect the screen protector that is fronting the LCD screen.
